Greetings!

She told me instead of focusing of Celtic folklore as a whole, focus on my specific experience instead. So “A Journey of Becoming” was born.

Hey y’all! Welcome to my modest little corner on the web! Let me just dig right in here. When I first decided to create this blog, I was a bit stuck on the direction that I was going to go. I knew that I wanted to focus on the spirituality aspect of my life, but wasn’t sure how to go about it. I have had a couple of blogs in the past, one being a spiritual one that I pretty much grew out of, so I wanted this one to be different. I wanted to focus more on my cultural roots and the folklore and mythology of my ancestors, which are predominately Celtic. However, I found another blog that seemed to cover Celtic folklore and well, I didn’t want to seem like I was copying anyone so I seemed to be back to square one. I lamented about this to a close friend. She suggested that instead of focusing of Celtic folklore as a whole, to focus on my specific experience instead, and so “A Journey of Becoming” was born.

So what is my spiritual background exactly? My younger years were spent in earth based spirituality, predominately within Wicca and all that entailed. Things began to change as I got older though and I realized that Wicca had it’s place, but in many ways I just didn’t really fit in there. It took me several years to get it together and get on the right track which essentially led me to Ancestor Veneration and American Folk Magic (Conjure & Rootwork). I also have a background in Intuitive Development and Mediumship as well which enhances my personal practice. Aside from this, December 2017 will mark a year since I began my training in Hekatean Sorcery. That in itself has been one hell of a journey so far! I may write about this experience later on down the line, who knows. 😉  Incidentally, before I get any raised eyebrows and remarks about muddling, I keep my practices separate. 😉 The older I get the more I find that I am a traditionalist.

Anyhow, I have been and am currently delving further into the traditions and culture of my ancestral roots, which as mentioned earlier, are predominantly Celtic. The only problem I have found since beginning that journey though was finding solid information on Celtic Folk Magic or Traditional Celtic Witchcraft outside of Wiccan based Paganism.  At any rate, chronicling my journey will be the main focus of this blog. I hope you’ll join me. 🙂 Have a great weekend folks!

Blessings to you,

Brigid
